Tax Collector

Office hours are listed on the bills as follows:

• March/April 10 AM - 2 PM. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
• June/July 10 AM – 1 P.M. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
• Hours for the remainder of the year will be posted on the Boroughs web site. 
• Hours will also be on the electronic sign on the senior center/rec center building.
• Appointments are always available at the office.  Anyone having problems coming to the office should call and we can make arrangements to meet with you.  (570-385-1313)

We encourage payments to be sent by mail to expedite the collection process.

• The 2% discount period is March through April 30, 2023.  
• The face period is May through June 30, 2023.
• The 10% penalty period is from July through December 31, 2023

• Please keep in mind if mailing for any of the above periods your payment must be post marked by midnight of the period you want to pay for.  Discount by April 30. Face by June 30 and penalty by December 31.  All taxes not paid during the year are turned into tax claim.
• Please pay bills by check or money order only.  If a receipt is requested please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your mailed in payment.
• Per Capita Tax updates need to be provided to the tax collector.  If you know of someone that’s moved out of town, is recently deceased or in a nursing home contact the tax office right away so they can be removed from the tax rolls.
• The Borough/County bill must be paid in full when due.  No installment payments are permitted.  
• The Per Capita Tax  is due by every resident 18 years and older.  PC tax is due by anyone who is a renter or homeowner.
